  • Talk by Eeva Lennon

Eeva Lennon has worked as a foreign correspondent for more than half a century. She started her career in Paris in the 1960’s, where she reported for Yleisradio and Uusi Suomi.  This was the time of de Gaulle’s presidency, his two vetoes against Britain joining the EEC, the student protests of 1968 and violence connected with the aftermath of the Algerian war. In the early 1970’s Eeva moved to London. She continued working as a correspondent for Yleisradio but also contributed to the social democratic newspaper, Demari,  and other journals. Her memoirs were published in October under the title Eeva Lennon, Lontoo.  Her book is almost 400 pages long, so there is much for her to choose from. In addition to her experiences in Paris and London, she will she will also talk about her childhood in Finland during the war.

The meeting will be held at St Giles International, 154 Southampton Row, London WC1B 5JX at 6.30 for 7.00pm. Members should contact the Hon. Secretary in the usual way. Non-members who would like to attend should  contact him using the Contact Form on this website.
