Kuura – New Nordic Cuisine
Many members of the Society have enjoyed hospitality at the Residence while Sini Kiiialainen has been the Chef. She will shortly be emigrating to Australia but, in response to enthusiastic appreciation of her skills, she published a book this summer, Kuura, which includes recipes for many classic Finnish dishes, some of them adapted so that they they can easily be made with ingredients available here, as well as her own creations. She will talk about her experience of working in London and contrast working for the Embassy with earlier commercial situations. The intention is that it will be a very informal occasion and that those attending will have the opportunity to ask lots of questions and to get advice from an expert.
The meeting will be held in the Wilkins Room at the London School of Pharmacy, 29-39 Brunswick Square, London WC1 at 6.30 for 7.00 pm. Please contact the Hon. Secretary no later than Monday 3 November if you would like to attend. It would also be helpful if you could let him know if you are likely to want to buy a copy of the book (£20).
